Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tareq el Mulla on Saturday said that the Egyptian oil sector managed to stand firm in the face of fierce international competitiveness and domestic developments.
Addressing a workshop on developing the oil sector, he said the sector managed to survive regional and international challenges due to a set vision on means of improving the industry.
A developed plan was a prerequisite to encounter changes gripping the region and the world, he said.
The sector is a key player in leading economic development, he added.
The sector’s development plan should lead to improving the sector's performance while taking into consideration international changes, the minister said, adding the plan goes in line with Egypt Vision 2030.
