Plattsburgh, N.Y. , importer Battat Inc. is recalling 1,080,000 toy keys with toy car-locking remotes due to a possible choking hazard, regulators said. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said the toys were imported from China and sold nationwide from January 2006 through May 2011 for about $9. An additional 3,600 of the toys were sold in Canada. The commission said they plastic keys or key rings can break, posing a risk of choking. The recall involves B. Funkeys with factory codes H58000-01 or H26300-01 and Parents Magazine Electronic Keys with factory code H26300-01. The code is located on the back of the remote. Consumers were advised to take the toys away from children and contact Battat to receive a free mailer to return the recalled keys for free replacement keys. Consumers can call 866-665-5524 for information.
