Under the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the instructions of His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the U.A.E. Armed Forces, the Follow-up Committee of the Initiatives of the U.A.E. President has approved the construction and distribution of 897 houses for U.A.E. nationals in various emirates across the country.
The committee endorsed a project for building 426 new houses, and distributing 92 homes which have been constructed for beneficiaries in Sharjah, Ras Al-Khaimah, and Um Al Qaiwain. The committee also initially approved the provision of 87 replacement houses, and allocated 292 homes for people with disabilities, widows and other groups in society in urgent need of housing.
The move comes as a strategy to secure a decent life for Emiratis, raise their standard of living and achieve family stability.
Ahmed Juma Al Zaabi, Deputy Minister for Presidential Affairs, and Chairman of the Committee, said that the housing projects and programmes are being followed-up by H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, to ensure that the housing units, services and facilities meet the needs of citizens.
