The Tilal City project is set to be a game changer for the real estate sector in Sharjah and the wider UAE and caters to the growing housing demand in the emirate, said Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Chairman, Tilal Properties.
He made his remarks during a visit to the stand of Tilal Properties, the Sharjah-based real estate developer, at Cityscape Global 2015 exhibition today at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
Tilal Properties are showcasing their flagship AED 2.4 billion Tilal City development project. The first-of-its-kind Tilal City mixed-use development project includes 1,855 land plots, offering the GCC nationals and UAE residents for the first time an opportunity to buy or lease land and develop properties in Sharjah.
Speaking on the occasion, Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi said: "The Tilal City project is one of the most exciting developments not only in Sharjah but in the UAE. Considering Sharjah has always been a popular choice of residence for families in the UAE and for people from across the GCC region in view of its celebration of family values, tradition and culture, this flagship project by Tilal Properties is truly special. It couldn’t have come at a better time as it caters to the rapidly rising demand for housing in the emirate, keeping with the highest international standards in terms of modern amenities, convenience and aesthetics."
He expressed his satisfaction that the Tilal City project has been well received by the industry and residents of Sharjah and the UAE. "And I am confident that it will have a far-reaching impact on the real estate development in the emirate, invigorating it further. I have been closely following and monitoring the progress of the project myself and it is wonderful to see the fast pace of the growth. The completion of the initial roadworks marks significant progress for the project," Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi added.
The visit by Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi coincides with the developer’s announcement of the completion of initial roadworks on the site, marking a major milestone for the high-end development project.
Khalifa Al Shaibani, Director General, Tilal Properties, commented, "Tilal City is the largest development project we have undertaken in the region and we are very pleased with the progress made on the site so far. With the initial roadworks now completed, we are on track to hand over the first plots to owners in 2016 as per project schedule. The idea is to create high quality and sustainable mixed use neighbourhoods in Sharjah which offer a better quality of life for residents and visitors."
The completion of the initial phase paves the way for sewage and water pipelines as well as cable laying for electricity. Once these activities are completed, work will begin on demarcation of the plots. "It is a truly unique development in that developers are responsible for providing all the utilities and key infrastructure, which is a first for this sort of development in the emirate," he added.
Commenting on the Cityscape Global 2015, Al Shaibani said the exhibition offers an ideal platform to highlight the revolutionary impact that this unique development will have on the property market in Sharjah and the UAE. "We look forward to sharing this with our investors, stakeholders and industry partners during this important event," he added.
