In a very strange reaction, Egyptian singer Shereen refused to sing with Saudi actress Maysoon Abdul Aziz during the filming of the program “Celebrity Duets” in Beirut. Close sources to Sayidaty.net said that the Egyptian singer asked about Maysoon’s nationality before filming the song together. When she learned that she was a Saudi, she got upset and threw the microphone to the ground, shouting that she did not sing with Saudis or with anyone from the Gulf before leaving the place. Despite efforts of the program crew to contain the situation and bring Shereen back, she refused and left the place. In a phone interview, Maysoon said that Shereen’s reaction had shocked her. She said that she had rehearsed the song many times to sing it with Shereen. When she arrived at the studio, she met the Egyptian singer, who asked her about her nationality. “When I told her that I was Saudi, she threw the microphone to the ground and shouted loudly, so everyone could hear her,” said Maysoon. Maysoon questioned why Shereen acted this way and whether there was a political motive behind her action. She added, “I know that she does not know me. I am a Saudi actress and I participated many times in Gulf serials. I have my fans as well. This is discriminatory and it should not go unpunished. She must apologize first to Saudi and Gulf artists before apologizing to me.”
