Washington - AFP

Mick Jagger will tread in the footsteps of Stevie Wonder, Paul McCartney and Bob Dylan this month and play for US President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle at the White House. The Rolling Stones frontman will join artists including B.B. King, Jeff Beck, Keb Mo, and Buddy Guy for an evening celebrating the Blues in the latest in a string of soirees of different musical genres held by the White House. The event, directed by Booker T. Jones of Booker T and the MGs, on February 21, will be taped and televised by PBS public television in the United States six nights later. First Lady Michelle Obama will warm up for the event with a student workshop focusing on the Blues on the same day in the White House's State Dining Room. The "In Performance" series started soon after the Obamas moved into the White House in 2009. Highlights include Dylan belting out protest anthem "The Times, They are a Changin'" in the East Room of the presidential mansion, and McCartney crooning the Beatles classic "Michelle" to the First Lady
