Josh Greenberg, co-founder of shuttered music service Grooveshark, was found dead in his Gainesville home Sunday. He was 28.
The entrepreneur was found in his bed by girlfriend Abby Mayer after she returned from a weekend away. According to authorities, no evidence of foul play or suicide was discovered.
Greenberg launched Grooveshark as a college freshman with Sam Tarantino in March 2006. The Internet-based music streaming service allowed users to upload audio files that could then be streamed and shared with others.
The service was shut down in April as part of a lawsuit settlement with several major music labels.
The young startup pioneer's mother, Lori, told the Gainesville Sun that her son was relieved to move on from the stressful lawsuit and was "excited about potential new things that he was going to start."
