Actress Pamela Anderson has been granted a temporary restraining order against her estranged husband Rick Salomon.
The couple have had a notoriously stormy relationship, breaking up and reconciling several times in recent years. Anderson filed for divorce last month after a little more than a year of marriage. Anderson and Salomon were previously wed in 2007, but they had the union annulled a few months later.
People magazine said the restraining order filed Friday will last until an April 3 court hearing.
Anderson revealed in her application for the order protecting her from Salomon that she is "scared of what he is capable of doing to me" because his behavior "has become erratic, out of control and has caused me to fear for my safety."
The 47-year-old television personality said shortly before she filed for divorce, Salomon put a pillow over her face while they were having sex in an apparent attempt to smother her. She said he also has a history of verbally abusing her and harassing her via email and text messages. He has allegedly threatened to release nude photos of her without her permission, as well.
Anderson was seen last week on the red carpet at the premiere of the film The Gunman. Accompanying her was Brandon Thomas Lee, one of her two sons with her ex-husband, rocker Tommy Lee.
