At least 15 people were killed and 21 others injured on Saturday in a road accident in Pakistan's eastern district of Kasur, local media reported.
The accident took place when a passenger bus plunged into a canal in Changa Manga area of Kasur, Punjab province.
An eyewitness said the over speeding vehicle got out of control and fell into the stream while breaking away the fence.
Rescuers, police and local people rushed to the site and took out bodies and injured persons from the canal and shifted them to hospital.
The death toll might rise as at least five of the injured are in critical condition, hospital sources said.
Ten men, four women and one child are among the deceased people.
It is not known how many people were on board, but authorities have stopped the water inflow into the canal to ensure that all the bodies and injured would have been taken out.
Police said initial investigations revealed that speeding and tire bursting were the main causes of the accident.
