At least 31 militants were killed and many others received injuries as jet fighters bombarded militants' hideouts in northern Khyber tribal region of Pakistan, bordering Afghanistan, said military on Saturday.
A statement issued by Pakistan military's Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that Pakistan fighter jets targeted militants' hideouts in Koki Khel area of Tirah Valley of Khyber region.
It said that that airstrikes also destroyed four militant hideouts. Khyber is one of the seven tribal regions of Pakistan governed by tribal laws and has been facing militants' insurgency over the recent years.
The fresh air strikes came at a time when Pakistan military has stepped up the operations against foreign and local militants in Khyber following a brutal attack on an army school killing at least 143 people including children.
