At least sixteen security personnel were injured and two militants killed in an operation launched by security forces in Quetta city of southwestern Pakistani province Balochistan on Thursday. According to a senior police official, police, rangers and other law enforcement agencies took part in the operation on Thursday killing at least two militants and injuring sixteen security personnel. Security forces launched a search operation in Kali Barat area of Quetta where militants opened fire and threw hand grenades injuring sixteen security personnel. An exchange of fire took place and two militants blew themselves up with explosives to avoid the arrest, police told. According to media reports, a body of a child and two women were also recovered from a house, although official did not confirm the report. Security forces completed search operations and declared the area \"clear\". The wounded and dead bodies were shifted to nearby hospitals.
