Four soldiers and nine militants have been killed in Waziristan tribal built of Pakistan.
Local media reports suggest that the incident took place in Pre Ghar area on the border between North and South Waziristan on Saturday, the Afghan (Khaama Press) reported on Sunday.
According to these reports, military personnel were on duty when a group of armed rebels attacked them.
Pakistan's military said in a statement that the exchange of fire left four soldiers and nine militants killed.
"At least nine terrorists were killed in a cordon and search operation. Four soldiers also embraced shahadat (martyrdom)," the military said in a statement.
Five soldiers also sustained injuries in the gun battle.
The skirmish takes place amid an all-out military operation against Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and other insurgent groups in the tribal built that also shares border with Afghanistan.
