At least three people were killed on Monday by a rocket attack in the northern Pakistani province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), said police. A woman and two children were killed when a rocket, fired from an unknown location, hit a house in Charsadda district of KPK, according to police officials. The husband of the killed woman and a child were wounded in the attack as the roof of the house collapsed. Security forces carried out a search operation for the culprits, but the attackers managed to escape the scene. The injured were rushed to the District Hospital Charsadda for immediate medical treatment. Charsadda lies on the borders of Pakistan's troubled northwestern Federally Administered Tribal Area (FATA) where security forces have been involved in fighting militant insurgents for several years.
