At least four suspected militants were killed and fifty others were arrested in a targeted raid by security forces in northern Pakistani province Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), said a police official. According to a senior police official SHO Haji Khan, security forces along with police carried out the operation in Swabi district of KPK after receiving a tip off that militants had occupied the Shakoli primary school in Swabis Khanpur village. The militants opened fire as security forces raided the school resulting in an hour-long gunfire between the two sides, the official said. The security forces recovered a huge quantity of explosive material and other arms and ammunition, added the official. Security forces cordoned off the area and carried a search operation arresting fifty suspected people for interrogation. Militants have been actively attacking government personnel and polio teams in district capital Swabi for months now.
