A soldier and 14 militants were killed in an attack on an army check post in Pakistan's northwest tribal area of North Waziristan on Saturday morning, local media reported.
Express TV said that in a cross-border attack in morning, an unknown number of militants stormed Naotop check post of Bajaur Agency, a semi-autonomous tribal area at Pakistan-Afghan border.
The attack left one soldier killed and two others injured who were shifted to a nearby hospital.
In retaliatory attack by troops, 14 militants were killed and others fled the scene.
Army helicopters also took part in the retaliatory attack.
Military sources were quoted as saying that the attack took place at about 5:15 a.m. (local time).
