A top Al-Qaeda leader Adnan El-Shukrijuma was killed on Saturday in South Waziristan tribal Agency of northern Pakistan bordering Afghanistan, said the Pakistani military Saturday.
A statement issued by the media wing of Pakistan military said Shukrijuma had moved to the Shinwarsak region of South Waziristan area to hide in a compound from North Waziristan Agency due to the ongoing Zarb-i-Azb military operation.
"His accomplice and local facilitator were also killed in the raid," the statement added.
Adnan El-Shukrijuma was a member of the core Al-Qaeda leadership and was in charge of all external operations of Al-Qaeda. A soldier and three militants were killed in the raid.
Earlier on June 15, Pakistan military had launched Operation Zarb-i-Azb against foreign and local militants in North Waziristan.
