A new militant group calling themselves \"The Free Officers of Libya\", issued a statement, Saturday, in which they vowed to \"liberate Libya from the hands of the [ruling] National Transitional Council\". The statement indicates that the members of the group are associating themselves with Muammer Gaddafi\'s regime with the words: \"We had the honour in the past to overthrow the traitor regime in the revolution of September 1969, we will also have the honour to respond to the calls of dear Libya to liberate it again.\" The statement added they were \"ready to cooperate with the true revolutionaries, while those who were misled [who fought against Gaddafi] will not be harmed as long as they remain in their homes. We say to the international community that this issue only applies to Libyans, and as for the international charters and agreements, we can assure the world they will be respected. Our people will choose the state which they truly want, and the sun will rise again for all Libyans.\" The ruling National Transitional Council have stated that some of Gaddafi\'s sons and the remnants of his regime are trying to erupt a civil war in the country to hinder the transitional process.
