At least 157 Daesh militants were killed Friday after Iraqi forces repelled an expanded attack carried out by terrorists in various districts in northern Ramadi of Anbar province, an Iraqi military statement said.
Also, an Iraqi officer and 32 soldiers were killed during the attack, the statement added.
As many as 10 car bombs, a BMB1 vehicle, 20 explosive devices, 10 explosive belts, two motorcycles, two machine guns, four vehicles, three bulldozers and a car equipped with a single-machine gun were destroyed, while a Daesh unmanned aircraft was shot down.
Iraqi forces, backed by US-led and Iraqi warplanes, managed to purge districts that have been attacked.
