Iraqi forces repelled a suicide attack by Daesh militants in southern Karamah in Anbar province on Monday, security sources said.
Fourteen booby-trapped cars and a number of suicide bombers were involved in the suicide attack, the sources added.
The armed men were targeting military forces stationed in Karamah.
Iraqi forces also foiled another suicide attack at Muthana bridge, the sources said.
An Iraqi police officer threw himself at the suicide bomber before he approached a gathering of Iraqi forces, leaving both the suicide bomber and the officer dead.
Meanwhile, Iraqi warplanes bombed an arms depot and a place for making booby-trapped cars in Fallujah.
The air raids also targeted training centers for Daesh militants, leaving 36 terrorists dead.
