Iraqi military forces stormed Talkif city, northern of Ninawa' Mosul, to liberate it from Daesh grip.
In remarks on Thursday, Commander of Ninawa operations Lt. Gen. Abdulamir Yarallah said the forces advanced toward Talkif from three directions, managed to take control of its main buildings and raised the national flag over them.
Iraqi security forces launched on December 29 the second phase of a military operation to liberate Mosul, the capital of Nineveh, from Daesh terrorist group.
The first phase of “We Are Coming, Nineveh” operation came to an end on December 15 after liberating 40 districts out of 56 on the left bank in eastern Mosul.
