Iraqi anti-terror forces on Monday took control of control of Zawiya district on eastern axis of Mosul from Daesh militant group.
Media Cell of the Joint Operations Command said the forces also stormed the strategic village of "Serouj" on the southern axis of Mosul and started to chase out Daesh militants.
Also, Iraq's Squad 16 controlled Nagmoun and Tel el Yabis villages and advanced towards Mosul.
Commander of the Anti-Terror Authority General Abdel Ghani el Asadi said troops operating on the eastern side of Mosul will meet with military sectors on the southern axis in order to enter Mosul districts.
He also said coming hours would witness the advance of anti-terrorism troops from the 9th Armed Squad and the Iraqi First Squad towards Mosul from three axes.
