Iraqi forces, backed by fighters of the Popular Mobilization Forces, on Saturday liberated new areas in eastern Fallujah of the Anbar province.
Dozens of Daesh militants were killed in the operation, an Iraqi military statement said.
Also, 25 Daesh militants were killed and three vehicles were destroyed when Iraqi forces repelled an attack carried out by terrorists on a military base in Salahuddin.
Meanwhile, the Iraqi military described reports claiming that senior Daesh commander Shaker Wahib was killed as inaccurate.
Earlier, chief commander of the military operations in Anbar Ismail Mahlavi confirmed that Wahib has been killed in an Iraqi army operation in the town of Rataba in the Western part of Anbar province on Friday.
Mahlavi added that seven other Daesh commanders were also killed in the operations.
The confirmation by the Iraqi army comes while Fahdavi was reported dead eight times before.
