An Iraqi policeman has thwarted a terror attack when a suicide bomber tried to blow himself up inside a Shiite mosque in Mandali town in Diyala governorate in northeastern Iraq, the spokesman for Diyala police said in a statement on Friday.
The failed attack led to the killing of the suicide bomber and a child who was passing by near the blast site, he added.
Meanwhile, Daesh militants held about 17 Iraqis, mainly young men, for stealing archived documents that contained information about Daesh's clients in Hawija district of Kirkuk, a local source unveiled.
