Bibliotheca Alexandrina Chamber Orchestra will play The Four Seasons concerti by Antonio Vivaldi, an Italian composer from the Baroque era. The conductor and solo violin of the evening will be Khaled Showeikh.
Undeniably, The Four Seasons is among Vivaldi's best known work.
Each concerto titled with the names of consecutive seasons — Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter — carries a unique texture and as such represents them in a picturesque manner.
The BA Chamber Orchestra, consisting of 16 string players, was founded in 2002 with the launch of the Arts Centre’s activities in the same year.
Since its founding, the orchestra has given a variety of concerts in Alexandria and Cairo, performing a repertoire filled with western classical music, Arabic music and light music compositions, often cooperating with renowned Egyptian and international soloists and conductors.
