The Executive Committee of Aleppo Campaign has approved an amount of US $ 500,000 to provide urgent relief to Syrian victims in Khan Sheikhoun area in Idlib province,, who were attacked by chemical gases today.
The field teams of Qatari charities participating in the Aleppo campaign began to provide an immediate response to those affected by the gas strike in Khan Sheikhan, in coordination with UN agencies and the World Health Organization, the committee said in a statement.
The statement also noted that the Committee had contacted with WHO to discuss the emergency response plan for chemical strikes and directed the field teams to implement an emergency response plan for those affected by the gas strike.
The field teams began to provide emergency treatment for minor and medium injuries under the supervision of the Qatari Red Crescent, while the severe cases were transferred immediately to the nearest place inside or outside Syria for treatment. .
Five Qatari charities participated in the Aleppo campaign which was launched on the National Day, including Qatar Charity, Eid Charity, Qatar Red Crescent Society, Sheikh Thani bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services (RAF) and Afif Charity.
