Damascus - KUNA

At least 39 civilians, including 11 children and two women, have been killed as a result of the bombardment by the regular troops on several parts of Syria, mainly the northern Governorate of Aleppo, on Wednesday. in a press release, the Syrian Revolution General Commission (SRGC) located the deaths as 16 in Al-Maaden district of Aleppo, five in Eisha village on the outskirts of Aleppo, two in Idlib, two in Deir-Ezzur and two in Homs. The regime's warplanes dropped 24 powder kegs on Dariya town, Damascus countryside, which resulted in a yet-to-be-specified number of casualties in addition to extensive material damage. The warplanes launched five air raids on the eastern Al-Gouta on the outskirts of Damascus and Aleppo, the statement noted. In a related development two people starved to death this midday in Al-Yarmouk Palestinian refugee camp, south Damascus, and ten others were admitted to Palestine Hospital there in a life-threatening condition due to malnutrition. The rebel Free Syrian Army (FSA) affirmed that four soldiers from Brigade 137 defected the regime and joined the FSA after a fierce fighting which left six fatalities among the ranks of regular troops.
