Jan Egeland, humanitarian aid coordinator in the office of the UN chief, called on the US and Russia to intervene to bring to an end the ongoing fighting in Aleppo.
Shelling civilians in the areas held by the opposition has to come to an end and aid trucks should be allowed into Aleppo, Egeland said in statements Sunday.
Airstrikes launched by Assad-regime forces on eastern Aleppo left 106 dead on Saturday.
