Egypt's Environment Minister Khalid Fahmy headed for Ethiopia's Addis Ababa on Friday to take part in a meeting of the the Committee of African Heads of State and Government on Climate Change.
The meeting is part of the 26th session of the African Summit, slated for Saturday and Sunday, the minister said.
The session will tackle reports by Abdel Fattah El Sisi in his capacity as coordinator of the committee, mainly the outcome of the World Climate Change Summit held in Paris in December.
In Addis Ababa, the minister will meet with the heads of the African Development Bank, the Commission of the African Union along with African ministers of environment to discuss ways of activating the African initiative for renewable energy.
