Egyptian Minister Hossam Moghazy

Egypt has underlined that it is committed to dialogue with Nile Basin countries in general and Sudan and Ethiopia in particular.

Dialogue is the only alternative not only to settling water disputes and the Renaissance Dam issues but also to creating real partnerships in the economic domains with the aim to achieve prosperity for the Nile Basin countries.

Egyptian Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Hossam Moghazy told MENA that he understands that dialogue might face challenges at times, noting that the technical details are complicated.

The work mechanism between the two consultancy offices tasked with preparing studies about the Ethiopian Renaissance Dam took much time to discuss in detail, the minister said.

Moghazy said that he hopes a settlement can be reached on Friday between the three parties (Egypt-Sudan-Ethiopia) about the technical details.

He further praised efforts by the Sudanese Water Minister Moataz Moussa and the technical delegation to find solutions to the pending matters.
