Hydrocarbon exploration is of paramount importance for Morocco as well as the energy strategy led by the ONHYM to develop sedimentary basin exploration, said, on Tuesday in Rabat, head of the Moroccan hydrocarbons Office (ONHYM) Amina Benkhadra.
We have sedimentary basins in the different geological stages. These basins are the subject of an exploration program by our partners and ourselves (…) Some companies have decided to start drilling, an important step to better understand the basin data, Benkhadra said during an information day organized by the Office under the theme “key Concepts for hydrocarbon exploration”.
She also said that a lot of work is done through investments over the past years in geology, hoping that these efforts led by the ONHYM and its partners, will gradually bring a first insight into the importance of the energy potential of Morocco.
The ONHYM’s mission is to develop exploration in Morocco by attracting more and more oil companies of international repute, to assist us in the process of exploring our basins, said Benkhadra.
