Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al Abadi issued directives that the power cut will include the houses of all State officials, topped by the house of prime minister, ministers, the president and the governors. It is not allowed to use fuel allocations from the State to operate generators for the private houses of all State officials, according to a press release of the media office of the Iraqi prime minister. The power will be cut at all the State institutions outside the official working hours, except hospitals, orphanages along with other institutions that need electricity throughout the day. Earlier, Iraq’s Electricity Minister Qassim Fahdawi said that Iraq’s actual need for electricity is 21,000 MW, whereas the available energy is only 11,000 MW. Source: MENA
