The European Union on Tuesday suspended its support for Cambodia's election authority, questioning the legitimacy of polls slated for next year after the opposition party was dissolved.

A Supreme Court ruling last month dissolved the main opposition to Hun Sen's ruling party, an act the EU described in a statement as arbitrary and which "can not be seen as legitmate".
