The German government agreed Wednesday to withdraw its troops from Turkey's Incirlik base, national news agency DPA reported, after last-ditch talks with Ankara failed to resolve an escalating row.

The military personnel and hardware, including Tornado surveillance jets -- deployed as part of the international coalition's fight against Islamic State group jihadists -- will be moved to Jordan's Asraq base instead.
