Qatari swimmers dominated the 14th GCC Swimming Championship (25m), organized by Qatar Swimming Association, which ended Saturday.
In the U-17 year-olds category, Qatari swimmers collected a total of 51 medals. The swimmers won a total of 32 gold medals, 11 silver, and 8 bronze ones. In second place was the UAE, collecting a total of 41 medals, followed by Bahrain who collected 29 medals.
On Thursday, Qatari swimmers in the 17 year-olds category collected a total of 21 medals, nine gold, seven silver, and five bronze ones. In second place was the UAE, collecting a total of 19 medals and the third place was Oman with a total of nine medals.
Chairman of Arab Swimming Confederation Taha Al Kishry crowned the Qatari team and handed the trophies to President of Qatar Swimming Association Khaleel Al Jabir.
In remarks to QNA, President of Qatar Swimming Association Khaleel Al Jabir expressed pleasure with the results and dedicated the achievement to the wise leadership of the State of Qatar, President of the Qatar Olympic Committee and to the people of Qatar.
Al Jabir congratulated the members of Qatar Swimming Association and the technical committees, on the great success achieved in the tournament
