Actor Matthew Broderick is to make a guest appearance on the upcoming season of the U.S. sitcom \"Modern Family,\" ABC announced Friday. The star of the film \"Ferris Bueller\'s Day Off\" and Broadway\'s \"The Producers\" will play a neurotic new friend of Ty Burrell\'s character Phil, the network said. Season 4 of the show is to begin next Wednesday.
