U.S. cable network Lifetime says it has ordered 13 episodes of Marc Cherry's nighttime soap "Devious Maids" to start airing in 2013. TVGuide.com said the show was initially developed this spring for ABC, but the network declined to order the pilot into a series. "This show and Marc Cherry's unique storytelling voice perfectly articulate Lifetime's strategy of attracting top-tier creatives with their most original and exciting projects," Lifetime's Nancy Dubuc and Rob Sharenow said in a statement Friday. Inspired by the hit Mexican telenovela "Ellas son la Alegria del Hogar," "Devious Maids" stars Susan Lucci, Ana Ortiz, Judy Reyes, Dania Ramirez, Roselyn Sanchez, Edy Ganem, Grant Show, Brianna Brown, Rebecca Wisocky, Tom Irwin, Mariana Klaveno, Brett Cullen and Drew Van Acker. It is Cherry's first television project since "Desperate Housewives" wrapped this spring.
