Vaccarello to design Versus collection London - Arab Today The young Belgian designer has been named as the latest guest designer for Versus Versace. Versace announced Thursday that Anthony Vaccarello would be taking the reins for the next outing of the Versus Versace second line. The latest news is part of a series of seasonless collections and collaborations which replaced the previous designer, Christopher Kane. Vaccarello will be following on from pop star MIA who created a series of bootleg-print Versace looks inspired by her East London youth, and Northern Ireland-born designer J.W. Anderson who showed a men's and women's collection on the runway in New York City this May. Thirty-one-year old Anthony Vaccarello was the winner of the fashion prize at the 2006 Hyères Festival and the prestigious ANDAM in 2012, and the designer is one of the industry's top young talents, known for his daring cut-away silhouettes: "Anthony's clothes have everything that I love: they are sensual, dynamic, daring." explained Donatella Versace "He is a natural, and has the confidence and talent to push fashion where he wants it and where it is relevant for today's women. I can't wait to collaborate with him, and to see Versus Versace through his eyes." Vaccarello was excited about the project: "Versace is a house that has always used extraordinary techniques to create its bold, contemporary fashion. I feel like we share a similar spirit, so for me it is a dream collaboration," he explained. We can't wait to see what Vaccarello dreams up for the Italian luxury label. Source: Relaxnews
