Danielle and Jodie Snyder, the sisters behind jewellery label Dannijo, launched a bridal collection this month. The chunky, statement gems follow Dannijo’s signature style and will speak to style-conscious brides looking to step outside the jewellery box. Dannijo was formed soon after Danielle co-founded L.W.A.L.A. (Live With A Lifelong Ambition), a youth based non-profit organisation that fundraises for grass-roots initiatives in Africa by encouraging peers to use their passions and talents to impact change. Danielle and Jodie decided to design a capsule collection to support the initiative. Natalie Portman signed on as the spokesperson for the organisation and made mention of the jewellery in New York magazine’s Gift Guide issue as the “gift to give.” With the success of the philanthropic collection, Danielle and Jodie went on to pursue the creation of a luxury accessories label. In 2008 out of their NYC apartment, Danielle and Jodie launched Dannijo, the handmade luxury fashion jewellery and accessories label. The aesthetic combines Danielle’s bohemian, rock ’n’ roll vibe and Jodie’s more classic sensibility making for a versatile and ever-changing statement collection. The sisters cited \"Old Hollywood glam\" as the inspiration behind the new bridal line, depending on how they are styled pieces can be bohemian, rocker, or classic.
