The British luxury brand will add a new female fragrance to its Brit Rhythm line early next year. The men's scent Burberry Brit Rhythm was launched in September this year, inspired by Burberry creative director Christopher Bailey's ongoing love affair with Britain's musical culture. Now Burberry has revealed the first details of the scent's rock 'n' roll sister. Designed by Givaudan perfumers Nathalie Cetto and Antoine Maisondieu, the perfume opens with English lavender, pink peppercorn and neroli, before flowering into a fruity heart of orris absolute, blackberry leaves and orange flowers. The drydown notes include vetiver, musk and vibrant woods. Bailey explained the appeal to WWD: "it’s really that kind of adrenaline feeling that you get from music. The effect of hairs rising on the back of your neck. The moment where you are anticipating your favorite band coming on, or when you are listening to a beautiful piece. It’s a sexy fragrance because I think there is a sexiness to that kind of rock ’n’ roll world.” The key element is apparently the English lavender from Kent, "We are very proud — this is the first feminine fragrance created around lavender. English lavender is more aromatic [than French], and it was important for us to have an English ingredient," said Cetto. The eau de toilette comes in three sizes - 90 ml ($90), 50 ml ($70), and 30 ml ($53) and there will also be body lotion, hair mist, body wash and deodorant options. The fragrance will launch January 3 in Paris at the Sephora on the Avenue des Champs-Élysées, at Selfridges in London on January 23, and at all Burberry stores and online five days later. The teaser campaign is set to drop on January 21, joined by a capsule collection of one-off leather jackets. Source: Relaxnews
