India’s ITC Hotels has unveiled plans to launch its first five-star leisure resort.
Launching in October 2014, the ITC Grand Bharat will be located 40 minutes’ drive from Delhi, and will offer a luxurious escape from the capital for golfers and other guests.
Spread across more than 120 hectares of land, the new all-suite resort will feature 100 units, some of which feature terraces and private pools.
The property will also offer a vast array of leisure facilities, including three separate nine-hole golf courses designed by Jack Nicklaus, a spa with nine treatment rooms, four restaurants, a swimming pool and open-air theatre.
Guests will also be able to partake in a range of leisure activities, such as canoeing, paragliding and cycling.
“The opening of the ITC Grand Bharat marks an exciting period in the history of ITC Hotels,” said Nakul Anand, ITC’s CEO. “We are determined to be the home of the leisure traveller in India, to add to our existing position as the number one group for business travellers.”
ITC currently operates 10 business-focused hotels in major Indian cities. But the company’s expansion into the resort arena will continue next year with the launch of the ITC Vilasa near Chennai, which will become ITC’s first beach resort.
