An earthquake measuring 6.5 on the Richter scale jolted Mindanao, Philippines at 22:53:09 GMT on Friday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 68.6 km, was initially determined to be at 6.703 degrees north latitude and 126.631 degrees east longitude.
