Agriculture Minister Essam Fayed will embark on a visit to Berlin on Tuesday to take part in Fruit Logistica 2016 exhibtion, slated to start Wednesday in the German capital.
Egypt will be the guest of honor at the two-day exhibition, in line with an agreement signed on the sidelines of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's visit to Germany last June, the minister said in on Monday.
He added that the Fruit Logistica is one of the world's largest fruits and vegetables importing, exporting, producing and marketing gatherings.
Nearly 2,800 exhibitors from 83 countries will participate in the exhibition that will see 65,000 visitors 137 from different countries.
With a 1,670 meter square pavilion, 90 Egyptian companies will show case their unique agricultural products.
Egypt aims at increasing its exports to European and Asian countries through opening new markets, the agriculture minister said.
The minster believes that such exports would increase foreign currency in the country.
