Police in California arrested James Louis Wilmert, 36, for allegedly cooking and eating cats. He is currently detained at the Kern County Jail on charges of animal cruelty and using a pet or domesticated animal for food, both misdemeanors. Neighbors called the police after hearing wailing and screeching noises coming from the man’s house. Wilmert is scheduled for arraignment on Friday.
