South Korean formally asked North Korea Thursday to join an upcoming international conference on biological diversity, an official here said.
The South delivered an invitation for the North to take part in the 12th meeting of the signatories to the Convention on Biological Diversity to open in Pyeongchang, some 180 kilometers southeast of Seoul, at the end of this month, according to unification ministry spokesman Lim Byeong-cheol.
