Conde Nast Traveller Middle East, a popular travel magazine owned and run by Conde Nast International, has featured a photograph taken in Oman on its cover.
“So proud of our April issue, and in particular this cover shot in
one of the Middle East's most beautiful regions,” its Editor-in-Chief, Rhea Saran tweeted.
Conde Nast International’s conference on ‘Mindful Luxury’ is coming up in Oman this week on April 5 and 6.
Inaugurated in 2015 in Florence, the conference has grown into the most significant event for the luxury and fashion industries, exploring different themes and concepts within the luxury space.
The concept for the 2016 edition was the ‘Future of Luxury’, and held in Seoul, South Korea, the theme reflected important facets of Korean society including a focus on technology’s role in the luxury sector.
The conference draws on the collective influence of Condé Nast International’s publications, and the vision and knowledge of the world’s most renowned fashion journalists, said Suzy Menkes, International Vogue Editor.
Menkes said Oman was chosen as the destination for 2017 due to its position at the nexus of global trade, offering a unique perspective that encompasses India to the Far East, Europe to Arabia.
Some of the speakers at the conference include Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Oman, Beauty blogger Huda Kattan, Fashion designer Elie Saab, Hollywood director James Lima, and Jimmy Choo CEO Pierre Denis, Co-Guardian of Mouawad Group Pascal Mouawad.
Subjects to be discussed at the 2017 luxury conference will include new markets for the luxury industry and targeting bright spots of wealth and growth; reigniting consumer desire; luxury for the “post-luxury” world; and the evolution of global trade routes.
Place Vendôme Qatar and Oman Air are co-lead partners for the Luxury Conference, along with host partner Omran.
