MTV reality star Jenelle Evans is on her way to achieving a surgical assistant degree, an accomplishment she hopes will inspire others.
The recently-sober mother of two was named to the director of education's list at Miller-Motte Technical College for earning a GPA over 3.5 with an 80 percent or higher attendance rate.

"It's truly remarkable how far the South Carolina native has come since turning her life around in the past few years, and she deserves all of the praise for her success," praised the network that made her famous in a post on the news section of its official website. Evans starred in 16 and Pregnant and Teen Mom 2, both aired on MTV.
Evans said she hopes her achievements will inspire others not to be held back by personal adversities, tweeting, "If I can go to school with everything I've been through and having two children, [you] can too!"

Evans was awarded her certificate of achievement the same day unfortunate lighting in a photo of son, Kaiser, led to unsubstantiated reports to Child Protective Services that the North Carolina native was abusing her children.
