Controversial television host Tawfik Okasha has been acquitted by an Egyptian court in the southern city of Luxor, after he faced charges of insulting President Mohammed Morsi during a show. Okasha was previously sentenced to three months in prison plus a 501 EGP fine, based on a lawsuit filed against him by former member of parliament, Nasreddine Moighazi. Okasha appealed the first verdict and was acquitted on Monday. The court ruled the individual who filed the lawsuit was not themselves directly connected to the incident.
