Cairo - MENA
Antiquities expert Abdel Rehim Rihan called on the Higher Council of Universities to enlist the Institute of Coptic Studies among the higher education mechanisms as it represents an important part in the history of the Egyptian civilization.
The institute is open to all Egyptian students, Muslims or Copts and grants a post-graduate degree in Coptic studies under a credit-hour system, he said in statements on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the institute.
The institute was founded in 1954 by the Coptic Orthodox Church of Alexandria.
