Iran\'s Islamic Azad University is due to hold an educational workshop on \'Nanotechnology Principles and Applications\' in the Southwestern city of Masjed Soleiman from February 7 to 9, 2012. The 18-hour course will be taught by Prof. Gholam Ali Mansouri who will review the topics presented in the University of Illinois in the past six years. Prof. Mansouri holds a PhD degree in chemical engineering and is in charge of Thermodynamics Research Laboratory at the University of Illinois in the United States. He was selected as the best Iranian researcher residing in a foreign country in Best of Nanotechnology Awards in 2008. Some of the topics to be covered in the workshop are as follows: o Importance of nano-scale, atomic and molecular principles of nanotechnology, latest achievements of nanotechnology, carbon nanotube, the basics of atomic force microscopes and etc. o Production of nanostructures to be used in biotechnology, thermodynamics and statistical mechanics of biotechnological systems, transference phenomena in nanotechnology, Biological systems and etc. o Nature of resins, waxes, other heavy elements of petroleum, deposition of wax, laboratorial methods for identification of heavy organic materials in petroleum liquids, latest discoveries on nanotechnology concepts about organic materials and etc. The educational workshop will be held parallel to the Conference on Nanostructures and Nanomaterials, Sciences and Applications. Among other educational courses in the conference, mention can be made of educational workshop on mathematics\' applications in technology, presented by Ottorino Ori from Italy. According to the secretariat of the conference, the participants will obtain an international certificate for participating in the course after the end of the educational course entitled \'Nanotechnology Principles and Applications\'.
