Gargash sees the pioneering role of Al Mansouri as a success to the empowerment of women in the MENA region and women's confrontation to terrorism.
U.A.E. Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Dr. Anwar Gargash said a woman, being the forerunner in the international community's war against terrorism and the barbaric acts and brutality of Daesh or so-called the ISIS, and that the Emirati jet fighter pilot Maryam Al Mansouri– the first Muslim and Arab woman that joined the international coalition forces and the bombardment of the ISIS– is a double message to extremists here and there.
Posting Twitter comments on his official page, Gargash added that the criticisms our Muslim societies are facing regarding women's rights and her empowerment are widespread and common at the western human rights organisations, and the role played by Emirati jet fighter pilot Maryam Al Mansouri had mixed papers and broke the stereotype on the U.A.E. experience.
Gargash sees the pioneering role of Al Mansouri as a success to the empowerment of women in the MENA region and women's confrontation to terrorism.
"The negative coverage is less. It may indicate that it is a partisan and fanatic or justifies extremism and terrorism, or it might be a western view stemmed from organisations that do not understand and perceive breaking their conventional image on the eastern woman,” he noted.
